What I see, Where I am, Right Now!
What do you see outside your window?
A concrete back garden, and a couple other back gardens. It's pitch black right now.
Whats the best thing about your area?
It is very convenient for food shopping, and actually for shopping for bits and bob in general.
Describe your home in three words?
Calm, Serene, Bright.
Whats the first thing you do when you get home?
Take off all restricting items. Sometimes its just earrings, bracelets, other times it's a change into more comfortable lounge wear and socks and a warm cardigan.
Whats for dinner tonight
I had a big lunch, but I may make spaghetti with pesto, tomato and smoked mackerel, with a dash of mayonnaise. It's the same thing I had for lunch but sometimes I can be a little unimaginative with food, especially when I am keen to use up the produce I have in my fridge that may go bad - this time its the mackerel.
What are you procrastinating about?
Updating my CV, posting our baby video monitor that stopped working back to amazon (they sent a new one already), getting my hair put in braids - it's time (I have natural/kinky curly hair), making some admin phone calls and sending one or two emails that are overdue.
How do you relax?
Curl up on the sofa and watch a TV show with MisterB, preferably the whole box set, all at once, marathon style. Currently, I am loving Empire. It's an american tv series about a hip hop & r&b record label. Some of the story lines are super hyped, but I forgive them because it's really entertaining and the character Cookie is very lovable.
Or a bath with a lit candle and music playing softly in the background.
Whats on your bedside table
Olive oil, Oyin handmade burnt sugar pomade, baby nail clippers, Abidec vitamins for babies, sippy cup, hair clips - basically a bit of a mess right now. I need to tidy it up.
New or vintage?
Vintage. I love that old feel. It stirs up warm happy feelings in me.
Shower or bath?
Both. A bath is great for relaxing and it is reserved strictly for night time. But I do my best thinking in the shower, I like to have very long ones, especially at night, but sometimes in the morning on a weekend. Although those days of long showers are over with baby on the scene, she's usually right there in the shower complaining after three minutes, or these days attempting to slide out the side of the bouncer, even though she's strapped into it.
Tea or coffee
Tea. Always and forever. I am just about to put the kettle on.
