And your life easier too...
Putting together a list of products for your baby list is no easy task. These buys have been a great addition to my life and I would recommend them to every mum for your babies. They cut the amount of effort and time you spend on those mummy tasks you do not particularly enjoy. That, or they offer unparalleled convenience and comfort for you or baby.
I have used them in the last five months and they are:
1. reasonably priced - maybe not dirt cheap, but value for money
2. have a longevity to its use
3. convenient or make a task easier
4. do what it says on the packaging and offer some added advantage(s) too
1. Two-in-one Nest/ Snowsuit alternative by Vertbaudet
Top of my list is the '2 in 1' nest in the photo above. It is a snow-suit alternative and I cannot recommend it enough. It keeps baby warm at 3.6 tog, when it is cold out. It can be unwrapped, either by opening just one side or completely, by opening both. If you've moved indoors from chilly weather outside, you can gently open up the covers so baby does not overheat, and all without waking her. It fits in any car seat with a three point harness. It also comes with a change mat which I use at home, but is marketed to be used when you're out and about.
2. Short sleeved Body suits by Vertbaudet
Another great buy from the Vertbaudet online store. They may not be the cheapest body suits, for just under £3 for one, but I found the fabric to be pretty amazing which is what I was looking for to put my newborn in. It's soft and stretchy in a way that holds and fits well on baby. The quality was not compromised by wash after wash, in fact it seemed t get even softer. I put Coco in these from day one (they were a little big then) and I have only in the last week, put them away as they are now too small (she weights over 7kg and started at about 3kg). I plan to keep them for future use ;). I am comparing these body suits to ones I have from H&M, Carters, BabyGap, TKMaxx and to me, they are the best. I wish I had just bought bodysuits from here.
3. Hook n Stroll Multipurpose hook
I got this from Amazon. I use these hooks for hanging grocery bags, shopping bags, my handbag and the shopping basket on my stroller. They do what they say on the packaging and keep the bags on the pram, though I initially doubted it would do a good job I have been pleasantly surprised by how efficient they are.
4. Play gym bar
The IKEA Leka play gym is the toy that keeps giving and I rate it very highly. We've used it since Coco was 1 month old. For batting and learning to hold & pull. We sometimes mix it up by taking 1 or 2 of the hanging toys down, leaving just one in the middle or at the side. The side toys swivel and are great for practicing lying on her side and rolling over. Recently she's been interested so I put her sitting down in front of this with the bop pillow behind her and the pillows around.5. Tommee Tipee Sangenic Nappy bin
The Tommee Tippee Sangenic nappy bin has been great. I don't ever have to empty it for it being smelly, only when it's full. The smell is locked in with the wrap & seal technology and it holds quite a number of nappies in it at once. One disc of refill plastic bags lasts a very long time - in 5 months, I think I have only ever used two (although I also use a normal bin in my bedroom for diapers too). Its when I compare how smelly the normal bin gets and how often I have to empty it, that I realise how useful the Sangenic is.I got some of these items at a sale price, including the nest from Vertbaudet. If you've got time between now and your baby's arrival, sign up to receive newsletters so you get a prompt when the next sale is on.
Happy Monday. x
Here is a link to products that make your life easier part I, which I wrote last year, if you would like to see. I have updated the post for pictures and checked links are still relevant too. Again, those are products I have used and would recommend highly.
Another helpful list is this one I wrote on Apps to download (all free) and use for first few months with a new baby.
