Happy Mama Maternity - Affordable & Looks great
So far, I have written two posts on maternity outfits: the first featured clothes from my maternity wardrobe and the second had a few styles from the current women's wear collection at ASOS that could work for maternity, too. Both posts are here and here.
What I haven't talked about is a breastfeeding/nursing Mums wardrobe. I thought after I had lost the bump, that was it for worrying about appropriate clothing, but actually clothes that work for nursing I have found to be even trickier. My jumper dresses are all out of the question and I realise now I wore a lot of those during winters past. Instead, I have relied on jeans and then I usually go with a tank or strappy top and then a fitted shirt or cardigan over that. That way if I am nursing, I undo the bra clip bit thats for nursing, slide down the top of the tank top and voila. My tummy is not exposed or cold.
If I had known before, though, I would have invested in a few more maternity/nursing tops, jumpers or dresses. They are a clever way to nurse without worrying about the tank top element or about what is suitable, you would just go to your nursing staples. I saw a few when I was pregnant but didn't get more than one or two because I thought they were quite pricey for what looked like basics and then I became preoccupied with getting things for the baby, as opposed to things I would need.
I have recently come across this store on Amazon that does maternity & nursing (two in one) wear and at a good price too.
