Baby Coco's Meals - A Story & A List
Friday evening was an indian takeaway kind of evening. I ordered a spicy lamb jalfrezi, peshwari naan and some poppadoms. What do you have when you order indian?
As soon as I opened the pack, Coco was all over me - she is the most interested in solid food when adults are eating. I eyed the poppadoms but thought better of it. I cut off the non-sweet part of naan and offered her that to mostly suck on and possibly chew. That was all going fine un till she dropped it. Next thing I know, this cheeky girl lunged forward for my plate, grabbed a handful full of poppadoms and squeezed them into her mouth in seconds. I was shocked...! Haha. I quickly wrestled what was left out of her hands, once I had recovered.
I am now thinking I should pretend to eat food specifically made for her - just serve it all on my plate and chew and see if she flies in and pours it into her mouth with the same enthusiasm. Sadly, when I lovingly prepare a dish and set it in front of her most of it lands on the floor. And she refuses to let me feed her, just closes her mouth if I try, except its food from my plate or Ella's Kitchen puffits. Usually food I am having is saltier than I would ever make her food, and I am now wondering if she has sussed this out. That food on my plate, is tastier than what I server her? Anyone know what this phenomenon is about? I just do not understand it.
I will get no award for weaning, sometimesI am just lazy and tired. I am a little ashamed to admit it but it's the truth.
I have put details of what I offer and how she responds to some below.
Happy Saturday, hope you're having a good one.
